Annual Report 2021-2022

Introduction :

The Welfare Centre Trust was registered on 25-12-2022 and has been providing welfare assistance to many poor women who are living under the poverty line, abandoned by their husbands, school children, children, differently abled persons, old people and the lost poor. The activities of the past year according to its golden objectives can be seen in the following report.

Objectives of Nalvazhvu Trust :

1. Helping poor people
2. To help those who have been abandoned by their husbands, widows, children and mothers, the elderly and the disabled.
3. Running orphanages, hostels for the elderly, disabled etc.
4.Providing relief assistance for natural disasters like wind storm, mountain.
5. Providing scholarships and tuition fees to poor students.
6. Providing assistance like medical camp, referral to hospital for treatment.
7. Providing all necessary assistance to groups like child labour, young women.

A Study of Dilapidated Houses :

About 60 families live in Ambedkar Nagar in Bachal Panchayat in Jolarpet Union. The government built free houses for them 45 years ago. The people living here are daily wage earners who are below the poverty line. Now their condition has become worse. Among the houses, 28 houses are collapsing. Half of them can be seen from the roof of the sky.
Due to this, the government is arranging to build free houses for them. But the welfare center trust has brought to the attention of the government that they are not in a position to fully utilize the free houses by paying the down payment and laying the foundation for the house.

Free Evening Class for School Students :

Providing Food :

Ambedkar Nagar, Annandapatti and Ashoknagar schools are where the most disadvantaged children of the area are studying. Free evening classes are being conducted for them through Thuynencha College DB Center and free education classes are being conducted by the DB Center. The students were given snacks every day. Therefore, the children attended the evening class regularly.

Welfare Assistance :

Also, the most disadvantaged people living in Karuppanur, Bachal, Annandapatti, Kanamandur, Puthukottai, Ariganavattam etc. were instructed to send a petition to the government to get pension for the widows, abandoned by their husbands, old people, walkers were bought for some of the disabled. The counseling center provided a way to get rid of alcoholism.

Assistance to the Disabled :

70 people affected by Dinduvadam in Tirupattur district were found and among them poor children living in extreme poverty were given 1500 rupees worth of notes and pen to 11 parents and 1 bag of rice per person under the leadership of DSP Mr.Ganesh. They are a little different because their spinal cord is affected and their life is in a three-wheeled cart. Therefore, their essential need for urinating, the tube fitted with the necessary medicine gives them all the burden. To study these more seriously and help them is one of the future plans of this welfare center.

Rack Pickers :

In order to fill their stomachs every day, some of them who are drowning in poverty such as women and children, who sell the garbage that is put in the garbage bins – plastic bottles and non-biodegradable small iron tin cans and fill their stomachs, are given occasional meals, food packets, and rice diapers, often twice a month.

Awareness Meetings :

An awareness camp and a free medical camp are conducted once a month for the most economically backward families. Those who are in the worst condition are identified and admitted to the government hospital to benefit them. The daughter of Rani in Ariganavattam was suffering from mental illness and was in a very bad condition. With the help of the students of Thuynenjak College, they were admitted to Walaja Hospital for medical assistance. At present, she is getting better by taking medicines at Tirupattur Hospital. People appreciated this very much.

Pongal Celebration and Welfare Assistance to the Poor :

This year on 09-01-2023 sarees and rice were distributed to the poor and needy like disabled, widows, abandoned by husbands, cleaners, below poverty line, street dwellers, orphans. RTN PHF.P.Arunagiri LIC., President Rotary Sangam Tiruppathur. Mr.A.Thirumal, Deputy Chairman of Municipal Council, Elagiramalai, Rev. Dr. Anthony Clement, Contributor, SDB Sakayamata Temple, Tirupathur, RTN, PHF. V. Puratsi Social Activist, Tirupathur Mr. Asokan Social Activist, Ambalur, Tirupathur District Mrs. A. Kalaivani B.Sc.,M.Ed., M.Phil., World Council for Women’s Rights (WC.WR) Tirupathur District President , Mr. A. Aruldas, Family Welfare Consultant graced the occasion.

Future plans of the Centre :

1. Setting up hostel for old age / differently abled
2. Providing employment/awareness training to young women/widows
3. Providing motivational training to school going students
4.Giving prizes to top three meritorious students
5. Providing free food and clothing to the poor and school children
6. Helping the people to reach out to the people and making the people aware of the government programs in collaboration with the government
